Nadia Joseph - Haiti

Nadia was born in April, 1982 and I started sponsoring her in late 1994/early 1995. Here is one of the first pictures I received of her:

She had tragedy strike in the first year or two that I was her sponsor. Both her father and one of her brothers were killed. I was never sure exactly what happened to them but Nadia, her mother, and her siblings went to live with an aunt. Luckily she was still within range of a Compassion project so I was able to continue as her sponsor.

I'm afraid I was not the best sponsor as I didn't write very often. I felt extremely guilty after reading how most Compassion children save and cherish every letter. I tried to make up for it more later and I assured her in my letters that while I may be bad at writing, I thought of her all the time and prayed for her.

I wish so much that I could continue to correspond with Nadia. I often think about her and hope that she and her family are doing ok.
