Hello!
We are Ken and Kristi and we're
A little history about us.... Ken grew up in the burbs of Chicago and Indianapolis. I grew up in a small town by Decatur. I attended Illinois Wesleyan University, and he attended Wheaton College. If you want to know how we found each other, click here for our story. We've been married for eight wonderful years now and looking forward to many, many more. However, our anniversary seems to be cursed. I have been sick or down for the count on 3 of our 8 anniversaries, and Ken for one. Our first anniversary I got horrible food poisoning from our dinner out. On the fifth I had recently been through surgery and was in lots of pain. In 2004 I went all week on vacation doing just fine, and in the wee hours of the morning of our anniversary, I got sick and couldn't leave the room all day. Last year, Ken got the flu (which I then got two days later). Needless to say, I'm not planning ANYTHING on our anniversary anymore. ;) Currently we both work at the same company in town. It's nice to be able to ride together and see each other during the day. In 2000 we bought our first house, and soon afterwards adopted two kittens from the Humane Society. You can read more about them and see pictures under the Kitties section. It's very nice not to have to put up with apartment living anymore, even though we do have a couple of neighbors who can be rather obnoxious from time to time. We're both homebodies and computer geeks, so our evenings are generally spent here playing various games. We used to be involved in EverQuest for about five years, but now we are playing World of Warcraft, and Ken also plays Magic Online. You can find out more about those and our other interests in the Fun Stuff section, if I ever actually get the page built. I don't play WoW as much as I used to play EQ and the rest of my time is spent blogging, chatting on Skype, or working on my website. Travelling is a passion for both of us. Unfortunately, our income does not quite keep up with all the places we'd like to go. ;) In 2004 we spent seven nights at the Sandals Halcyon in St. Lucia, West Indies. We had a fabulous time and I wish I could go back! There were 14 restaurants between the three Sandals on the island, the people were amazing, and the island was absolute paradise! You can read more about our trip and see pictures in the Photo Album section. We're not sure where our next big trip will either be. Perhaps either to Tanzania with a Compassion International sponsor trip, or to France and Germany. I would love to see my friend, Christèle, again and to show Ken around Nantes where I used to live. We hope you enjoy our site, and feel free to send us an e-mail with any questions/comments. Many of the backgrounds and images I use are from various sites that allow non-commercial use of their art. Please see the Credits page to take a look at their collections. These are not banners for money - they are there as a thank you to those who have far more talent than I. :)
